Dealthy Hallows

Unless you've been living under a rock the past week, as you will know the final instalment off the Harry Potter trilogy came out on Friday. Despite being a huge fan, I wasn't able to make it to the midnight showing. However I did see it the morning it came out, and I have to say it was the best yet. It didn't stay true to the books, which was disappointing, though it was still amazing and I can't wait to see it again (Saturday hopefully!)

This week has been a good one so far, Monday I set up for James Spankie and The B.Goodies at The Swan pub, aside from the gig being fantastic (it was a warm up gig for the Latitude Festival this weekend) I saw the most amazing Rat Car outside.

Sorry for the bad photos, I only had my phone camera on me. It was an old VW Beetle, which are the most beautiful cars in existence, that had been completely destroyed (paint chipped off, massive dents, back seats taken out, and what looked concerningly like bullet holes), and then decorated with all manor of awesome things. I couldn't get a photo off the inside, and that felt a bit too much like invading their privacy, but the whole of the inside was painted purple and covered in millions of band stickers, they'd replaced the gear stick with a frankensteins head, and covered the seats in cushions.

My dad has actually agreed to get me a classic car and let me do this to it for my 17th birthday! So I better start drawing designs.

Anyway, so that gig was awesome, if you haven't heard of James Spankie, go look him up, he's frustratingly talented! Tuesday night I'm helping with the sound for The Dickies, which will be fantastic as they're such a great band. Hopefully I'll remember my camera this time.

Tonight I'm going to try and sneak into Latitude. My dad's got equipment there, so we're going to turn up a few hours early to collect it, and demand to be let in as we are 'with the BBC'. Dad's already managed it once this week, and spent the day there for free. Again, I'll try and get photos, but that might be hard to do whilst being inconspicuous, after all, I'm supposed to just be a techy.

  1. Wow, that was a good find, Charlotte! I always find this VW model the best among the others. The design was a classic, and at the same time, can go along with any facelifts. And this photo is a sole proof that though it was marred and scared, the beauty was still there.
